Figure Skating Programs

The St. Albert Skating Centre has a new and revamped Figure Skating program which now will produce competitors in STAR or Competitive Skate streams. With our highly qualified, diverse team of professional coaches which work together to ensure that each skater achieves personal bench marks through our goal setting sessions. Our team offers high performance tools such as dryland strength and fitness training, yoga, sports psychology, Artistic/modern development, off ice jump/harness developement with on ice our tools such as Dartfish video, on ice pole and harness training, jump/spin program components sessions, multiple stroking/edge development, and goal setting class room sessions.

This is more than just skating!

Skaters enrolled in our Figure Skating programs learn a variety of life skills in their pursuit of personal goals. We believe the skills we offer lead to excellence in goal setting, planning, focus, confidence, problem solving, and time management. With hard work!

StarSkate 2-5 days a week.

CompetitiveSkate 4-6 days a week.

Free Skate Programs: Day Ice-Open Competitive, JumpStart/Junior, Intermediate-Open STARSkate, Intermediate/Senior-Open STARSkate/Competitive

Jumpstart/Junior package: No test level, Preliminary & Jr. Bronze test (competing Star 1 – 4) Junior package: No test level/Preliminary & Jr. Bronze test (competing Star 1-4)

Junior/Intermediate Blended package: Star 5, Sr. Bronze, Pre- Juvenile & up

Intermediate/Senior Blended package: Competing Sr. Bronze-Star 6-10, Pre- Juvenile & up OR landing 3 Doubles, OR age 15 & up

Day Ice/Open Competitive Package: Competing Sr. Silver & up, Pre- Juvenile(min 12pts. tech.) & landing 3 Doubles.

*All Academy programs include Goal Setting(enhance and strategize learning plans), Fitness(strength/stretch with pre/post warm up/cool down), Jump/Spin Technique(on ice group learning), and Stroking(conditioning,musicality,power/edge developement) weekly in a fun seminar setting.

*The session levels listed are guidelines only. Decisions regarding a skaters level are that of the Skating Director. Coaches reserve the right to move skaters to other sessions if ability/numbers warrant.
