CANSKATE (3-5)  is the "First Steps" to our "Learn to Skate" program, designed for "walkers"and working on getting up on skates. When you sign up for CanSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation, and basic skill development. Your skater will earn badges and other incentives as he/she learns the fundamental skating skills. Lessons are in a group format and led by a CanSkate Certified Professional Coach. Professional Coaches are assisted by trained Program Assistants (PA's). The Coach/student ratio is 1:10. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning. CanSkate is the feeder program to all other Skate Canada Skating Programs. If your skater is between 5-7 years old, and has no skating experience, please register in this program!

This program is recommended for skaters who are confident to be independent without parents in sight. If your skater is a little more timid, please check out our "Parent & Tot" program!

Recommended amount of skating days:
1 or 2 days a week in Fall and/or Winter
2 days/week in Summer.

**Please check out our "Skating Equipment" tab under the "Learn To Skate" header for a great deal on new skating equipment!**
