CANPOWER SKATE

Professional Coaching Staff 10-12 Skaters in a Group.

Payment Reserves Placement

CanPowerSkate is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared towards hockey and ringette skaters, ages 8 and up, that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. CanPowerSkate provides an alternative to figure skating and is an excellent complement for those athletes playing on hockey or ringette teams. This program offers instruction on how to skate efficiently and deliberately.  Its unique skill award program provides incentives and motivation for skaters to continue to achieve. This program focuses on the basics of skating, and also incorporates pucks during stations to simulate "real game" situations while skating.

The coach to skater ratio is 1:12. Each skater will receive optimal instruction from our power skating instructors.

Acceptance Level: Skaters must have basic forward and backward skating skills (able to skate the length of the rink using alternate strides), glide on 1ft forwards with speed, and are able to stop on command without use of the boards. OR, Stage 3 CANSKATE must be passed in order to register for this program.

For safety reasons participants must wear and have full hockey/ringette equipment including stick that is CSA approved.
