Fundraising and Volunteering Overview 2018-19 Season

SASC is a non-profit organization and Fundraising is a very essential part of our club at every level of skating, as it helps to keep ice and program costs reasonable for everyone. The amount of registration skaters are charged does not cover the actual cost of ice, coaching, and teaching tools, so we have to find ways to fill the gap.

We rely on Volunteers not only to run our Board of Directors, but to fund raise, run club competitions, and other events. May 1, 2018 - April 30, 2019 is our upcoming volunteer year. Any volunteer credits earned in this time period go towards satisfying volunteer requirement for the September 1, 2018 - April 30, 2019 skating season.

JumpStart/STAR 1 and up - Volunteer Requirements:

  • Each skater (or a parent) is required to complete a mandatory club competition shift.
  • One cheque for $125 per day your child skates (i.e. 4 checks of $125/each (NOT one check of $500) if your child skates 4 days per week) needs to be submitted to the office prior to September 30 in lieu of volunteering requirements. Please write the skater's name on the memo line. Volunteer tracking will be available on the website. The checks will be cashed on April 30 if you do not satisfy your required commitment for the September 1 - April 30 calendar skating season.

Volunteer credits are non-transferrable, and cannot be carried forward to the next season. If a skater leaves SASC and has credits on file, they become void. It is your responsibility to find a replacement (and notify a Volunteer Coordinator Erin Adams for a volunteer shift you have previously committed to.
